Hi, I'm Joakim (prefer Jocke) a 50 year old IT-veteran. I live Örnsköldsvik, in the north of Sweden. It's the hometown of ice-hocky legend Peter Forsberg and has a population of about 60k.
As former IT-consultant/Educator/Sysadmin/Technician I have a wider perspective then many of the people I've worked with. The last few years I've actually stepped back from a career, due to kids with diagnosis. I've joined opensource projects that seems interesting, if they wanted me.
Right now I'm involve in two opensource projects, OSMC and a "Virtual display driver" for windows. My experience from OSMC made it possible for me to help with EDID related issues in the display driver. I've also made a few bash-script based installers for OSMC, helped with automount problem, "Ported", Raspberry Pi's old tvservice command to Vero4k, using a bashscript. In order to run run.sh in RetroPi on the Vero.

Drafted a private data scraper, with DB, web interface and micro service in golang.
Working in python, building a GUI for developing Kodi-addons,
FamilyChores web app for my family, can't use other peoples solutions when I have kids with spec. needs

Currently most of my "screen time" is spent either with VDD or my families web app. For VDD, I've produced a number of Power shell scripts to be able to change a number of settings via shell instead of having to use GUI, settings in XML-format/file, implemented a "best gpu" selection, enabling automation of some processes. C++ part is rough, but even more of a learning curve is all these Windows API's and what not.
Now what would I do with any funds coming my way??
Since I haven't actually been working for close to 10 years, my economy isn't what it used to. So in short, I would get a better/upgrade my computer, I recently had to downgrade to a SFF i7-4790 which means no GPU, to start with I would start hunting for low profile GTX1030. After I improved my current computer situation, next step would be to "pay it forward" to projects I deem "worthy". I got most of my needs covered, but anything extra is hard to fulfill.
