Open source is in my everyday life, from working on projects via code contribution or helping manage its growth and to using libraries to streamline my work. Open source has influenced the way I think about development and how I build software and for that reason I try to give back as much as I can to the awesome community!
Most of you may know me from Semantic-UI or what we now call Fomantic-UI. This journey started in late 2017 when I was working on a website and found Semantic-UI (SUI) hadn't yet update to FontAwesome 5 so in Jan 2018 I created a PR to update the icons and started to help out with a few issues. After that I got invited to the team and continued to help out and open a few more PRs. A few months later SUI started to slow down in development and a few concerned users created issues which lead to the creation of a community fork named Fomantic-UI (FUI). FUI has grown with the amazing support of the community and we are committed more then ever to keeping SUI alive 🙌
I have also created other libraries like o and create-fomantic-icons, o is focused on common functions used with JavaScript objects. I started this library after continuously writing helper functions in my projects to do the same tasks with objects. create-fomantic-icons is a CLI tool which gives users an easy and nice way to update the FontAwesome icons for SUI and FUI and also allows them to use pro icons if they have a license.
