I started contributing to the Zend Framework project (and its subprojects) before it was public, eventually taking over as project lead in 2009. In 2019, I started the work of transitioning the project to the Linux Foundation in order to provide an open governance model, and expand its community and contributors; that reached its fruition when we migrated all repositories to the Laminas Project on December 31, 2019, and when the Linux Foundation formally created our legal entity on March 24, 2020. I am currently continuing my role as Project Lead under the project's Technical Steering Committee.
