GitHub Sponsors Profile

Hi there! 👋
Thanks for visiting. I'm Vojtech and I'm the author / maintainer of several packages for React (Native).
READ ME
If you've come to get the sponsor-only packages, there are two ways to get access to them:

Sponsor one-time and get updates for a year. In this case, please note I need to invite you manually so allow some time for that. Send me an email (with your GH username) and I'll invite you manually.

Sponsor monthly, and get access to new updates while you are a sponsor. You'll get automatically invited to the repos by Github if you sponsor from a personal account. If you sponsor from an organization account, get in touch (with your GH username) and I'll invite you manually (because GH doesn't do automatic invites for orgs as explained here). Please read more in the individual tiers on the right.

After the sponsorship ends, you can, of course, carry on using the last version you had downloaded, though access to the package registry stops working at that time.
Please get in touch if you have questions, concerns, or feedback.

Your sponsorship helps me maintain packages that you can see in my profile.
Background
I've been doing open source for several years now, initially to solve my own problems. Historically, when I asked for support, there usually wasn't much of a response - and I get it. Why would you, as a company or individual spend your money when the only thing you get in return is a vague promise that some guy will keep an eye on a piece of code and, maybe, make it better in ways that may (or may not) benefit your business?
This is why it's hard for maintainers to get sponsors, and why businesses don't see the value in doing it. It's also why OSS doesn't always deliver the quality that it could (there are exceptions, such as OSS backed by big companies).
I decided to take a different approach: for RN Google Sign in, and RN document picker + viewer I offer premium modules. These modules have more features, better docs... they have a ton of improvements in general - if you're a sponsor, you get something in return.
Why I'm Looking for Sponsors
Basically, I want to maintain the packages and make them better, but I want to do it sustainably. Sustainability is hard which is why I'm sure you've already come across many projects that are abandoned. I also think it's fair to be compensated for it.
If you use OSS packages in your for-profit apps, it makes business sense to support maintainers: you can help ensure your dependencies stay maintained and reliable, so that your devs can focus on delivering features.
What I Do
Apart from just coding, I'm passionate about great developer experience. Examples of my contributions include the RN testing docs, a bunch of commits to react navigation docs or things like this or that.
Thank you! 🙂
