First, thanks for looking to sponsor my work!
I‘m a passionate open source developer & designer, mainly using Go and React with a strong leaning towards DevOps, and the creator of „Nord“ — An arctic, north-bluish color palette.
I started to explore the fascinating world of bits & bytes back in 2004 and since then I enjoy every minute working on open source projects and being part of this fantastic community.
A lot of my time and focus is to develop, maintain and enhance Nord, a project that consists of dozens of repositories with multiple million downloads and a broad overall usage spread across many platforms and the www.
Nord was born as a small color palette, designed to fill the gap for a palette that matches my preferences and tastes, and has grown into a large-scale and broadly used project with more than 10000+ 🌟 stars on GitHub. Today you can choose from a broad and constantly growing spectrum of port projects to unify the appearance of your favorite applications.
It was published to give something back to the great open source community and has built its own community around itself.
Maintaining Nord nowadays requires a lot of work and energy, but it‘s amazing to see all these great contributions from the community making it better bit by bit. In the future, Nord‘s official project blog will be populated with news, insides, documentations and road maps to interact even more with community. I‘ve future plans and a lot of ideas to bring Nord to more platforms and make it more open and easy to enjoy and contribute to.
Next to Nord my main passion is to design and build other feel-good projects with Go and React like „snowsaw“, „wand“, the official Nord website and documentations or animated art like arctic landscapes or ocean fractals.
I like to stay up-to-date and dive into my favorite topics, ranging from CLIs to reactive UIs, compact libraries or more complex, multi-layer architecture applications. DevOps and the “cloud-native“ world is also an important part which I spend a lot of time on, either building tools or work on my self-hosted systems.
Sponsorship Goals
Building polished open source projects like Nord takes a large amount of time and effort and is often difficult to combine with a full-time developer job and the daily „real-life” tasks. Although open source has became a great part of my day, it‘s not the most important part and everyone should ensure to keep the work/life balance to prevent burnouts.
I always want to create projects with which I can identify, look forward to work on it day-by-day, and try to let this spark spread to others. This motivation drives me since more than 15 years and will never expire.
I would like to have the opportunity to spend more time on Nord with all of its ports as well as open source libraries, applications and tools written in Go and (Type/Java)Script with React.
My goal with GitHub Sponsors is to spend more time maintaining all my projects, continue developing new ones and actively contribute back to the awesome open source community.
Your sponsorship will support the development and health of your favorite projects to continue being maintained and extended. It will help to cover costs for project infrastructure like server hosting and domains, automation and technical equipment.
Becoming a sponsor confirms that my work really matters to you and is an excellent way to give back to the projects you use every day.
As I do all of this in my free time, it is important to keep the work/life balance in order to prevent burnouts and a sponsorship helps to spend time for „off-screen” activities with my family and friends.
Thank you in advance for supporting me, whether through contributions, feedback or a sponsorship.
