Howdy!
I mainly work on Irdest, a decentralised networking project aiming to build technologies for the next internet, accessible to regular users and low-power devices.
While we do occasionally get grant funding for particular deliverables and milestones, supporting my work via GitHub Sponsors allows me to focus on organisational, maintenance, and support tasks that I can't get paid for via a research grant.
As part of this work I maintain several Rust crates directly or indirectly relevant to networking projects. In the past I have also worked on the Rust 2018 edition and helped maintain several popular crates (especially around the Rust CLI-WG). While I'm less active in the Rust community now, most of my work is still Rust focused.
I have also been active in the NixOS community for several years.
I was part of the RFC Steering Committee from 2019 to 2022, where I helped maintain the RFC process.
Finally, since early 2023 I am part of the NixOS Documentation team and interested in making the NixOS on-boarding experience more friendly.
