Soot is the premier open-source framework for analyzing and transforming Java and Android application. Soot is licensed as open source under LGPL 2.1. It is the most widely used research tool of its kind, and is stable enough to resemble the foundation of several commercial static-analysis deployments. Widely used open-source projects that build on top of Soot are FlowDroid and CogniCrypt.
Soot is a non-profit project run mostly by Ph.D. students and PostDocs, who do not get paid for the work they contribute to Soot. We need your funds to pay for software, hardware and hosting around continuous integration and future improvements to the project. Also we use it to compensate student assistant who aid Soot's maintenance.
