Over the past years, we saw a growing demand for modular and distributed frontend applications. In most cases, the frontend solution was required to expose functionality for backend services, which were developed and operated based on a microservices architecture. Taking the experience from our past projects, we started exploring some of our ideas for a modular frontend architecture and we decided to build a new framework as foundation for Microfrontend solutions.
This is how Piral was born. Piral is an open source framework for building modern and highly scalable frontend solutions following the Microfrontend architecture pattern. The rich feature and tool set allows the development of a modular portal solution in a short amount of time. Especially distributed teams will benefit from using Piral, since supporting independent development and deployments of functional building blocks was one of the key design principals for Piral.
A sponsorship will allow us to put even more focus on Piral. We will be able to realize further ideas and react on feedback, which we received from the community so far. As Piral starts to be used more and more in production workloads, we can utilize a sponsorship to allocate further resources for addressing findings more quickly and to help sustaining a high-quality experience. Furthermore, we would like to create even more samples and guiding material, so that the rich feature set becomes accessible more easily to the Piral users.
