My name is Scott, and I am the main developer at Trivial Interactive. We are a small company based in the UK and have been creating Unity tools and plugins since 2016 to help you create awesome games easily. As the main developer, I have worked on a number of interesting projects over the years and had a lot of fun while doing it. A lot of these projects can be found on the Unity asset store. I am primarily a C# developer, since the Unity game engine is my day to day work tool, although I also have a background in C++. I love nothing better than creating a new and useful tool or plugin that could help developers across the world create new and exciting games.
Currently, most of the projects I work on are closed source and currently sold on the Unity asset store to keep our small company going in these competitive times. I would love to move to a more open sourced approach in the future so that more users can benefit from our tools and plugins. In order to do that, I would need to have some form of income from the projects, and github sponsorship sounds like an ideal way to do that.
I am currently working on an open source plugin for the Unity game engine which will allow users to load and execute managed assemblies while running on IL2CPP platforms. The project has already been in development for over a year now and was originally going to follow our current approach to publish on the asset store. Due to the support of the community though, and the requests for source access, I decided that it is a great time to give back to the community make the project free and open source. I would love for this project to grow and be used by a large community as I personally believe it has great potential (I would say that 🙃). I will continue to work on the project as much as possible, but sponsorship would help greatly and allow me to spend much more time working on and managing the project. Any funds received via sponsorship will help in offsetting other commercial work that pays the bills, allowing me to spend more valuable hours supporting the project.
