Hi, my name is Ryan Atkinson, I'm an independent software dev building apps and libraries full-time in public since 2019 🪄🤖
I'm trying to figure out how to sustainably fund my self-directed software dev work. I'm currently seeking funding from users of my software (like fuz.dev, @fuzdev).
I'm pursuing multiple funding paths that preserve Fuz's autonomy, and if people value the software enough, @fuzdev will become a nonprofit or otherwise transferred to one (so Fuz won't be sold, but at the same time it's free & fork-friendly). Donations give strong signals that people value my work, and that helps me get more funding because attention economy.
I hope to continue spending most of my time building software that's useful to others and meaningful to me. I want to go slowly with the community aspects of Fuz, so the focus stays on shipping useful software. Donating provides the donor no perks, intrinsic rewards only.
