GitHub Sponsors Profile
Hey there, I'm Rick and I'm open source project maintainer and sometimes contributor. I publish and maintain a number of open source libraries that I've authored. Here are a few of them:
Westwind.AspnetCore.Markdown
Westwind.AspnetCore.LiveReload
Westwind.Utilities
Westwind.Date.EfCore
Westwind.AspNetCore
Westwind.Scripting
LiveReloadServer
SetResolution
Anti-Trust Punk Rock Music Albums
AlbumViewerVNext
Westwind.Utilities
Westwind.WebView
Westwind.Globalization
Westwind.RazorHosting
Expando
wwDotnetBridge (Fox)
wwMongoDb (Fox)
jquery-watch
query-resizable
HtmlSanitizer
Markdown Monster
West Wind WebSurge
and there are quite a few more...
Most of these libraries are in the .NET space, but there are also a handful of JavaScript related tools.
I strongly believe in the pay to play principles of software as well as other aspects of our lives. Nothing is free, including our time spent building and maintaining free tools. As a developer, I use many open source tools as well and feel obligated to give back something to the projects that I incorporate into my own work, either via some sort of money contributions (where available) or with code help or promotion. Not all supports needs to be with money, but if using something we should strongly consider 'giving back' something to those tools that support us whether it's via constructive feedback and feature requests, bug fixes or code submissions, answering questions or by promoting the tools used.
Sponsoring is another way of saying "thanks" to the maintainers of open source projects. It doesn't take much to make a difference and sponsorship is one way to greatly encourage continuing to work on these open source projects even when the fun factor has long died down.
Don't worry. You can cancel your sponsorship anytime, no questions asked :-)
Thank you for considering sponsorship,
Aloha,
Rick
