I'm Rafael Dohms, a Software Architect @usabilla and a long time contributor to PHP and its ecosystem. Over the last two decades I have tried my best to contribute to the community in various ways:
As a speaker I have tried to bring fresh content and interesting thinking topics to everyone and help them excel at development and collaborating with teams. I have even been successful at teaching myself out of speaking slots by promoting and coaching new speakers.
As an organizer I have tirelessly put energy into bringing new communities to life, be it directly, like AmsterdamPHP and PHPSP or simply by inspiring people to step up and start new ones themselves. Having a space to not only to give new speakers a chance and training but also a safe space for people to learn and make new friends, like our AmsterdamPHP Game nights, a place for expats to meet new people and bring partners along.
As a developer I have mentored many people along my career and tried to contribute back with useful libraries such as the dms/filter and dms/chainlink libraries as well as building tools to automate everyone's life, like pronto! for conference speakers and github-label-syncer to get your repos under control.
