I started libkdumpfile back in 2014 as a SUSE Hack Week project. For many years, the library gained little attention, especially outside of SUSE. It was never my main task, but I was allowed to work on it in my work time. I did that from time to time…
Funnily, exactly when I quit SUSE at the end of 2022, different people started emailing me, reporting bugs and even contributing code. At this point, nobody is paying me for work on the library, and, well, I have a family to feed. 🤷‍♂️
If I can get some funding, I can certainly dedicate more time to write support for additional target architectures and file formats, improve documentation, etc.
