GitHub Sponsors Profile

I am Andy Field, probably best known as 'The Stats Book Guy'. My passion is creating engageing educational materials about statistics and R. Although I've done this through writing a series of textbooks, I have always felt strongly that I should also try to make some of what I do freely available. I've done this through websites (e.g., www.discoveringstatistics.com) but more recently through developing two educational packages for R (adventr and discovr) that co-exist alongside two of my books.
My day job (University Professor) has little room for these activities these days, and they are 'extras' rather than core to the books I produce, so inevitably these projects are stalling. I also have various web hosting, server costs that for years I have paid for out of my own pocket. All of which is fine, but I'm exploring sponsorship. I imagine I won't get any (and that's fine too), but any I get will offset those hosting expenses. In the unlikley event that any significant funds came in, I'd use those to pay peiople to help me maintain adventr and finish discovr. I'm also interested in suggestions for how I might use my skills in ways that would be useful to a sponsorship community!
