I’m a researcher, developer and entrepreneur, working on 3D face reconstruction and face analysis in images and videos using 3D face models. I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Computer Vision at the University of York, UK, and I’m the Founder of 4dface, a small start-up specialising in 3D face models and realistic 3D face avatars for professional applications.
One of my main projects is the open-source library eos, a lightweight 3D Morphable Face Model fitting library in modern C++14 (github.com/patrikhuber/eos). The library offers the tools and means to work with 3D Morphable Face Models (3DMMs), statistical models of faces, which are powerful models widely used in today's landscape of machine learning and AI to do things like creating 3D face avatars or virtual try-on's. The library features a lightweight and simple C++ API, as well as Python bindings, to make it really easy to use. It is the first of its kind to support a variety of public and non-public 3DMMs like the Surrey Face Model, Basel Face Model, or 4D Face Model and to make them all available in the same framework.
Your sponsorship would allow me to spend more time on developing eos, putting more features into the public version, and to spend more time on community questions and issues.
