Hi there! 👋 Thanks for considering becoming a sponsor!
My name is Olivier. I'm an engineer with a background in bio-informatics and analytics who found out that programming was a lot more fun.
I started working on open source a few years ago when I joined the Angular community where I've been lucky to be find so many kind and supportive people who helped me get started.
I specialize on internationalization (i18n). It's a very vast and complicated subject but I find it fascinating, and there are not nearly enough people with a good expertise on that. My goal is to make it easier for people to use i18n without having to invest as much time as I have.
If you've used one of my libraries and feel that it has helped you in any way, please consider making a donation once in a while! 🤗
What I've done
You might know me for the following work:
ocLazyLoad: a library to lazy load modules & components in AngularJS. So popular that some of its functionalities have even been integrated into AngularJS itself!
ngx-translate: The internationalization (i18n) library for Angular. It has ~300k installs per week on npm, which means that it's used in more than 1/5th of all Angular applications!
Locl: Internationalization (i18n) tools suite for Angular. This is the new project that I'm focusing on and I expect it to become the reference when you use i18n with Angular ivy.
And also for:
being part of the Angular team from 2017 to 2019, mostly working on i18n and ivy
being a panelist on Angular Air: regular from episodes 11 to 85, with a few guest appearances after that
a lot of Angular conferences, mostly at NG-NL, NgConf and Angular Connect.
Why you should consider supporting me
I've worked on a lot of open source for free and I consider it important to help the community as much as it has helped me. But all things considered I still have to pay my bills like everyone else.
I became freelance a few years ago so that I could work remotely and decide of my schedule. But ever since I got kids, most of my free time has either been spending time with my family or sleeping! When I work on open source, it's by taking time on my work schedule.
By sponsoring me, you're making sure that I don't have to choose between getting paid and helping the community! If not for me, do it for the kids! 😁
