My current long running side projects center around adding illumos support to some useful pieces of software:

An illumos port of wireguard-go which someone else started that I'm slowly working toward upstreaming
An illumos port of Tailscale that depends on the wireguard-go port
A Solaris/illumos port of fsnotify again which someone else started that I've picked up and continued working on

Those three are all built on some contributions I've made to the golang x/sys/unix library adding illumos functionality.
I'm also an occasional contributor to nixpkgs and various other open source projects as well.
