😁 Who am I?
I'm Muki, a software engineer from Munich 🍻. I try to ease packaging and deploying Scala applications 🥳.
👨🏻‍💻 At my day job I help publishers make money with advertising and care about the infrastructure and code base of gutefrage.net . This means a lot of TypeScript and Scala.
I have a small daughter that I wish to spend as much time as possible with and a wonderful wife that 👨‍👩‍👧. Currently I'm working 80% (4 days a week), which gives already helps a lot. However I find very little time to work on my two main open source projects sbt-native-packager and sbt-graphql.
🧐 What are you sponsoring?
I mostly work on build tools, sbt-native-packager and sbt-graphql.
With enough sponsorship I plan to reduce my day job and focus more on these projects. Especially in reducing technical depth, long standing issues, documentation and community building.
I wrote a few blog posts in the past and would like to write more if I have the possibility to reduce my day job.
🤔 Do I really need a sponsorship?
I well aware that I'm in very privileged situation to ask for sponsorship. I'm white, cis male in Germany in a city with a high standard of living with a job that's well paid. Because of this I donate money to things like GirlsWhoCode, change.org campaigns and wikipedia.
However I think open source is not for free and if you build successful products on top of it the people behind this doing the work should be paid. This is the same reason I believe in equal payments for everyone, minimum wage and universal healthcare.
