Most probably you are here because of awesome-for-beginners project I maintain. This is my most popular project my stars, visits and contributors.
I've created it in 2015 when I have joined a new company as a software developer. I was surrounded by very talented developers that have never contributed to open source or even simply had an account on GitHub.
I have created the list to promote open source work among my co-workers – to help in their career development and to add value to the wider society.
The list has grown a lot since then, I've changed jobs and transformed my career path from software developer to engineering manager. I am still maintaining the list that has now became one of the central places where people come to find projects that need new contributors and willing to spend time on educating them.
