My name is Jason Hartsoe, the human behind Midnight Spruce Pine (MSP)”.
I'm a passionate open source developer & designer and the creator of "MSP“ — An awesome Visual Studio Theme with an amazing color palette!
I started to explore the fascinating world of bits & bytes back in 1994 and since then I enjoy every minute working on open source projects and being part of this fantastic community.
My main focus is to develop, maintain and enhance MSP, currently consisting of more than 3 repositories and growing and spreading across many platforms.
MSP was born as a small color palette, designed to fill the gap for a palette that matches my preferences and tastes, and has grown into a really large and broadly used project. Today you can choose from a broad and constantly growing spectrum of port projects to unify the appearance of your favorite applications.
It was published to give something back to the great open source community.
Maintaining MSP now requires a lot of work and energy, but will be amazing to see all these great contributions from the community making it better day-by-day. In the future, MSP's official project blog will be populated with news, insides, documentations and road maps to interact even more with community. I have a future plan and a lot of ideas to bring MSP to more platforms and to make the project more open and easy to enjoy and contribute to.
Building polished open source projects takes a large amount of time and effort and is often difficult to combine with a full-time developer job and the daily „real-life” tasks. Although open source has became a great part of my day, it's not the most important part and everyone should ensure to keep the work/life balance to prevent a burnout.
I would love the opportunity to shift more time for MSP with all of its port projects as well as open source libraries, applications and tools written in Go and JavaScript (TypeScript) with React.
My goal with GitHub Sponsors is to spend more time maintaining all my projects, continue developing new projects and actively contribute back to the awesome open source community.
