GitHub Sponsors Profile

My name is Oliver. I'm a long-time code geek and most of the time I worked on my private GitLab server. Collecting 200+ repos in the last 10+ years I don't remember everything I did, but this single thing: I do stuff a little bit different then others.
I'm born in 1990 and I'm located in Wolfsburg, Germany. I started coding 2002 with HTML, CSS, JS and PHP and this is what I use most in private today too. I like the ease of kicking up some new project. I have a full time job in IT, managing some big project for a world leading car company. That sadly means I have no chance to code all day but because of all the time I spend coding in private and 10 years full-time, I have a lot of fun with other developers and we can dive deep into technical details.
In all this time I learned, that spending time in automation significantly improves the projects performance. Having a stable CI/CD, tests and some form of changelogs/documentation helped me to manage multiple projects with most likely no budget (and by no I mean 0$ in total).
There's a simple reason why I start building up my GitHub profile (and why it's so small right now):
In 2016 I launched two Piwik / Matomo plugins, therefore I needed public GitHub repositories. I published my plugins and went away. Start of 2021 I recognized that my plugins need to be updated for Matomo 4 and then I reviewed the repositories, I was surprised: There where issues, comments, forks and pull requests. I learned what I should have known allready: If you publish your stuff, others will probably give you feedback.
In 2021, I plan changes on my role in the open source community. Every day I investigate learning new stuff and also in practicing it. With my first serious public repository WordPress Composer Setup I'm showing how to manage WordPress long-term (5+ years). It's in progress, so feel free to re-visit it every now and then :)
To be able to show stuff, I need some infrastructure wich costs money. With your support I can pay the bills and do even more stuff.
