Hey there! 👋 I'm Marcel, and this is the Leantime story
You know that moment when you can't find the right tool, so you decide to build it yourself? That's exactly how Leantime was born. Back when I was juggling freelance clients, I found myself drowning in scattered notes, missed deadlines, and that constant feeling of "there has to be a better way."
Then something clicked. Working alongside Gloria in the startup world, we kept running into the same wall: turning brilliant ideas into actual, shipped products was unnecessarily complicated. The existing tools either felt like rocket science or were too basic to be useful. The middle ground? Pretty much empty.
So I started coding. Late nights, countless coffees, and many "aha!" moments later, Leantime started taking shape. But here's the thing - this journey taught me something important: the best ideas don't come from working alone.
That's why I made the decision to open source Leantime. The open source community had given me so much as a developer, entrepreneur, and program manager - it was time to give back. And wow, what a ride it's been! The project has grown from my little solution into something that's helping dreamers, builders, and innovators worldwide turn their ideas into reality.
Leantime is built for people who think differently. Whether you're a solo entrepreneur sketching out your first startup, a team lead trying to innovate within a large company, or anyone in between who believes there's always a better way to do things.
What makes me jump out of bed every morning? It's the messages from users telling me how Leantime helped them launch their project, or seeing contributors excitedly share their ideas in our community. Every pull request, every feature suggestion, every bug report - they're all reminders that we're building something meaningful together.
Today, Leantime is more than just a project management tool. It's a community of makers, dreamers, and doers. We're growing, learning, and building together. Your support through GitHub Sponsors doesn't just help keep the servers running - it gives me the ability to dedicate more time to the project, implement new ideas faster, and ensure Leantime stays accessible to everyone who needs it.
Want to be part of this journey? Every sponsor, regardless of the amount, becomes part of our story. You're not just supporting a project - you're helping shape the future of how people turn their ideas into reality.
Let's build something amazing together! 🚀
P.S. Feel free to reach out to me directly with ideas, questions, or just to chat about project management, open source, or your latest project. I'm always excited to connect with fellow builders!
