Currently an entrepreneur, or as my wife likes to call me “unemployed”. 😂 Co-Founder of Bad Monkeys. Writer of code. Formerly an HOK’s Design Technology Specialist and Grimshaw Architects’ Design Technology Specialist. At work it’s all about Software Development, Computational Design, BIM Workflows and helping others master the tools of their craft. Outside of work I enjoy cycling, playing basketball (PL Ballers) as well as rooting for my favorite Chicago Bulls. My background is in Architecture (buildings), but my passion is for code, and Open Source. Currently I support these Open Source repos:
archi-lab.net: A custom package for visual coding platform called Dynamo. This is a collection of nodes for interactions with Revit. It contains bunch of utilities that extend OOTB functionality of DynamoRevit package. https://github.com/ksobon/archilab
Mandrill: A custom package for visual coding platform called Dynamo as well as Grasshopper. It wraps D3.js and allows to create visualizations in Dynamo/Grasshopper on a fly. https://github.com/BadMonkeysTeam/Mandrill
Bumblebee: A custom package for visual coding platform called Dynamo. This is a wrapper around Excel that allows Dynamo users to read/write data to Excel. https://github.com/ksobon/Bumblebee
Mantis Shrimp: A custom package for visual coding platform called Dynamo as well as Grasshopper. This is an interoperability project, that allows to transfer geometry and data from Grasshopper/Rhino to Dynamo/Revit. https://github.com/ksobon/MantisShrimp
Thesaurus: A custom package for visual coding platform called Dynamo. It helps Dynamo users figure out what the next node should/could be. It uses ML to train a model on existing Dynamo scripts, and then uses that info to provide a sort of "intellisense" for Dynamo. https://github.com/ksobon/thesaurus
I have also participated in couple other Open Source projects while working for my previous employers. Here is a list:
Mission Control: This is a MEAN stack app for aggregating and analyzing data from Revit. https://github.com/HOKGroup/MissionControl
Zombie: This is a Windows Service that allows users to auto-update software on their PC by monitoring GitHub repositories for new Releases. https://github.com/HOKGroup/Zombie
HOK Revit Addins: A collection of Revit addins. https://github.com/HOKGroup/HOK-Revit-Addins
