Send Later has always been available as a free and open source project, and has changed hands twice since its original development. Most recently, I took over development and maintenance during Thunderbird's transition from traditional to WebExtension add-on format. That transition is ongoing, and has involved an almost complete rewrite of the code base.
Much of the transition work was funded by a Kickstarter campaign run by the long-time previous developer, Jonathan Kamens. My deepest gratitude goes out to Jonathan for all of his hard work on Send Later, making it a mainstay of the Thunderbird extension ecosystem. Jonathan now chairs an organization called Extended Thunder, which supports development of numerous Thunderbird extensions.
Development and maintenance of Send Later is now a much lower work load for me, but user support and ongoing work to fully transition the code base into the modern WebExtension format is still a major commitment, considering this work all happens during my "spare" time. Contributions through GitHub sponsorship are very highly appreciated. They don't come with any special reward, but I am happy to include your name and a link to your business or personal website in the Send Later documentation.
