Hey! I'm Joe DeVivo, coming to you live from Phoenix, Arizona.
I assumed there'd be a demand for a CircuitPython extension for VSCode, so I waited for one. It never happened and while Mu gets the job done, having worked with plenty of IDEs and build tooling in the past, I knew there was room for more.
So, armed with enough Python to blink a few lights, and absolutely no experience with TypeScript, I got to work. I'm pretty happy with how it's gone so far, and I have some more ideas for more improvements.
I set up this sponsorship to cover any hardware expenses as the project grows. The first thing on that agenda would be picking up a Raspberry Pi 4 to hook up to the azure-pipeline as a remote builder for arm bindings for serialport. After that it'd just be different circuitpython supported hardware.
