From learning ICL's CESIL language in the school holidays, through learning C on the first UN*X machine in Europe, machine vision for accessibility assistance at university, standard cell ASIC design, software engineering as a career, to containerised web applications, I thrive when learning and applying new software technologies.
As a design manager, I always encouraged teams to write software tools to automate repetitive tasks. In the era of open source, those tools can find a wider audience. The resulting multiplication of productivity is awe-inspiring.
Currently, I am further developing the web database application used by IEEE 802.1 to track standardisation maintenance issues, and track its projects. As a sideline, I'm developing a Ruby API for Electricity market-price tracking and rate selection for domestic consumers in UK.
I plan to use sponsorship to finance hosting fees, and recycle any surplus to sponsor the open-source tools which underpin my work.
