Hello! 👋
I'm currently a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, studying early endoderm development in human and mouse. But, you're probably here because of my work within the Rust project, which I devote a large chunk of my free time to.
I began working on Rust in late 2019, beginning with my involvement in the traits working group and working on Chalk. In mid 2020, I worked to integrate Chalk into the compiler. Since then, I have contributed various bits of work to both Chalk and the rustc integration. I have also mentored many Chalk contributors and helped lead multiple sprints.
Aside from the integration of Chalk into rustc, I have also contributed significantly to rustc itself on other work. Some of the bigger items that I have worked on include:
Refactoring Binder tracking (https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/76814)
Generic Associated Types (GATs)
Normalization under binders (https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/85499)
Better method call error messages (https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/92364)
As far as team involvement, I co-lead the traits working group (soon to be types team) since mid 2020. I am compiler contributor since early 2021.
Any sponsorships I receive help me to continue the work above. Some examples of what contributions might be used for:
Software or hardware to enhance my contribution workflow (e.g https://pernos.co/, a new computer, or cloud computing)
Attending Rust events (event cost, travel)
Empowering everyone to build reliable and efficient software.
