Hi, I am Jan 👋
I am dedicated to network security and I am particularly passionate about monitoring. Back in 2015, this got me involved in the Zeek project with my first ever commit to an open source project. Since then, I am an enthusiastic contributor and love to develop scripts and tools that aid in network monitoring.
What really fascinates me about monitoring is the complexity of the task. There are numerous aspects that need to be considered. Among my favourite areas are the following:

Packet aquisition: By developing the zeek-af_packet-plugin, I tried to offer a simple off-the-shelf load balancing solution for zeek.
Intelligence matching: I reworked Zeek's intelligence framework, trying to improve both functionality and usability as explained in a blog post.
