About Us
Hello, we're Icosa! We're a global community of developers and artists creating open source replacements for Google Poly and Tilt Brush. 🖌🎨
We started development on the Icosa platform after learning Google was shutting down it's Poly platform, which allowed creators to share and remix works created in Google Blocks and Tilt Brush. We felt it was important to preserve and maintain such an important resource that many artists depend on for their livelihoods.
Open Brush is a fork of Google's Tilt Brush, which was open sourced a few months after the Poly news. Our fork will focus on bringing all of the much-requested features from the community into one place, that anyone is free to modify or enhance!
Funding
Our GitHub sponsor program is hosted by Open Collective
Any funding received will currently be going towards server costs to host the site, API, and model storage of the Icosa platform. In the event that we start to receive more funds than required for general upkeep, we hope to be able to fund community arts projects that make use of Tilt Brush derivatives, e.g. EdTech and arts initiatives.

Our Goals
Open Brush

Update and maintain the Tilt Brush source code, keeping the project up to date with the latest in XR developments.
Develop a command API allowing any program to interface with Open Brush's creation suite.
Add custom brush support, with a simple way to share new brushes with other creators
Integrate seamlessly to the Icosa platform in place of Poly
Create an updated version of the Unity Tilt Brush toolkit that works with custom brushes

Icosa

Create a fully featured replacement site for Poly, allowing users to easily share their creations with the world
3D viewer for creations, including VR/AR support
Deliver a robust API that anyone can access to integrate creations into their own apps
Create an updated version of the Unity Poly toolkit that works with Icosa instead
