Heroic was created in 2020 with the goal of making it easier to play Epic games on Linux, since there was no GUI alternative at the time, and running the windows version of EGL was pretty heavy in resources.
The project grew and we decided to give support to Windows and macOS as well. So people could have an Open source and lighter alternative to the Epic Games launcher on their platform.
In 2022 we could add GOG support as well and this was a huge milestone for us.
The project continues to grow and experiment with other game stores so we could add support for even more of them in the future. 😄
