Who am I? Where did I came from?
I'm a sophomore Computer Science undergraduate at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) from Brazil 🇧🇷
Where am I now?
I currently live in Brest, France 🇫🇷 where I just finished an Exchange Program at Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO).
What am I working on?
I'm currently full-time contributing to Open Source projects at Github as a Fellow at the MLH Global Fellowship Program. I work mostly on python web development projects such as howdoi and httpie, but I'm very into Golang and concurrent systems, and hopefully will hop onto that soon.
Oh! And I'm also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️‍🌈 ! I'm part of the Brest LGBTQ+ group, where I work organizing regular events and parties for the local community. I'm interested in working to integrate more LGBTQ+ people into Computer Science and Open Source development as well.
Why is your sponsorship important to me? How will I use your fundings?
Working on Open Source Software is, as any other job, both mentally demanding and time-consuming. As of now I'm getting paid to work full-time by the MLH Fellowship program, but I'm not sure if I'll have the same amount of time or money after the program is over. Regardless, I hope to keep contributing on my free time, even if much less.
Your funding would go primarily to help me pay for basic expenses such as housing, internet connection and decent non-instant coffee. If I ever need to pay for hosting or other cloud-related services, your sponsorship would also help a ton on that.
