Hello, and thank you for dropping by our sponsor page. We're the developers of Publii, an open-source desktop CMS for Windows, Mac, and Linux that aims to make creating static websites fast and intuitive, even for users without web development experience.
Who We Are
We're Bob Mitro (@bobmitro) and Tomasz Dziuda (@dziudek), a couple of guys from Poland who've been working in the web development industry for around 15 years. We provide web design and coding services to our clients by day, but once our regular workday is over, we focus on developing Publii.
While Publii is our main project now, we've worked extensively with Joomla! and WordPress, developing a range of themes, modules, widgets ... While Bob focuses on understanding the design aspects of the modern web, Tomasz is more interested in coding; however, we are both committed to making web development accessible for all.
Why Develop Publii?
With the world being as connected as it is today, we feel that it's important that as many people as possible are able to build their own websites, whether to raise their business profile, share their portfolios, or just have a small blog to express their thoughts to the world—all completely for free.
The main aim of Publii's development is to remove the barriers that traditionally make starting a website intimidating while still offering enough flexibility to make it a good choice for experienced users who want a fast-loading site optimized for browsing across devices. By making it a desktop app, users don't need to worry about having an internet connection and a server available before making content. By generating static pages, load times are fast, even on the slower, cheaper servers that many first-timers use, and are lightweight, without the sluggishness that the modern, feature-heavy CMS offers.
How Your Support Helps
We're passionate about making Publii the best it can be, and we have an extensive roadmap for future features and improvements that will make it even more flexible and intuitive. However, the pressures of our other obligations mean we are often pressed for time.
