Hi there 😊
I'm a WebGL & JavaScript developer from London, but have also lived in Oxford, San Francisco, Paris and now Prague - so who knows, perhaps we've had coffee at the same table without even knowing. If so, hello again! 👋
I've always been interested in visual & creative coding. In particular I've focused on 3D maps, a space dominated by large corporations that often do not even bother to offer an API or library.
After 7+ years of working on proprietary software in this space I launched Procedural GL JS. The reception has been great, with the library featured on the THREE.js & Github Trending pages and hundreds of likes in the first month. For many developers that I've talked to, it is the best library in this space 🎉
My mission is to create a mobile-first, highly performant & developer-friendly interactive 3D mapping library. For the user it should load as quickly as a static image, while for the developer it should be as easy to add as a tag 🤖
If you use Procedural GL JS in your projects, it would make a huge difference if you sponsor me. My dream is to build a sustainable income around this project, so I can give it the time and love it deserves.
With sponsorship freeing up time from regular contract work, I plan on focusing on:
💻 Wrappers to ease integrations, top of the list: React & React Native
⛰️ Demos, like this directory of national parks in New Zealand
❤️ Implementing your feature requests
📺 Screencasts, tutorials and better documentation
It's a beautiful world out there - mountains, valleys, lakes and forests - and the available imagery is getting better every day. Let's use it to create some stunning experiences! 🚀
