I am the author of libheif and libde265, which are the most widely used open source libraries for handling HEIC and AVIF images. These libraries are used in basically all open source software that can handle these file formats, and they play an integral role in handling these file formats on the internet. I also work together with the development teams of the major web browsers in order to ensure compatibility.
