I am starting to write a new operating system targeting modern processors (for now it's just x86_64, but there are plans to implement aarch64 and RISCV64 support) in Zig.
Currently I am experimenting with a multi-kernel approach for the desktop, inspired by Arrakis and Barrelfish, and I am looking forward to proving this is a better solution than current hybrid monolithic approaches like Windows and Microsoft, although the major difference with mainstream operating systems will reside in the quality of userspace code.
