Hey 👋
I am Christian, born on the countryside of Germany, now living in San Francisco, California. For almost my whole career I have been contributing to open source projects, mainly around browser and mobile automation tools like WebdriverIO.
Sponsoring me will help me allocate more time in the development of the WebdriverIO ecosystem, fix bugs and focus on new features. WebdriverIO is a MIT licensed open source projects and completely free to use. The tremendous amount of effort needed to maintain the project ecosystem and coordinate the community efforts is only made sustainable thanks to the generous financial backing of our sponsors and backers.
Sponsoring as a Business
Sponsoring WebdriverIO gives you great exposure through the project website and GitHub project READMEs (see tiers for details). In addition, supporting OSS improves the reputation of your brand, which is an important asset for any company that interacts with developers.
If you are using WebdriverIO to test a revenue-generating product, it makes business sense to sponsor their development: it ensures the projects that your product relies on stays healthy and actively maintained. The exposure and positive brand image in the community also makes it easier to attract and recruit WebdriverIO users. The sponsorship also builds brand recognition and improves conversion.
Sponsoring as an Individual
If you are an individual user and have enjoyed the productivity of using WebdriverIO, consider sponsoring me as a sign of appreciation - like buying me coffee once in a while. If you are not comfortable with a monthly-recurring sponsorship, GitHub also supports one-time donations!
You can also try to convince your employer to sponsor WebdriverIO as a business. This may not be easy, but business sponsorships typically make a much larger impact on the sustainability of OSS projects than individual donations, so you will help us much more if you succeed.
