I want to continue my work on open source focusing on Deno. In particular, I want to continue publishing a blog on Deno called Craig's Deno Diary (https://deno-blog.com).
Before becoming a software dev in my mid 30's, I was a journalist for 10 years and won awards for my writing. The work that I am doing on the blog in my retirement brings together these two careers.
My blog concentrates on how to write Deno programs and use Deno libraries. It is the only independent blog that publishes Deno content exclusively. My blog posts get a lot of positive feedback in the Deno Discord, and the blog gets 15-25k hits per month.
I live in a rural location in USA and own my house that still has a few years before the mortgage is paid off. I am now on a fixed income and want to be able to supplement my income with GitHub sponsorship money. Having financial backing will also motivate me to do more work on my blog and publish blog posts more often. I do not have any ads on my blog, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Thanks, in advance, for your support of my work.
