Hi!
My name is Chris. I live near Portland, Oregon, USA. I have a family and some dogs and fish, etc. I also write open-source software, which is probably why you'd be reading this. About that:
I've been a maintainer of Mocha since 2014. Mocha is a very, very popular (and "mature") testing framework for JavaScript.
I'm a Node.js collaborator, which means I can merge pull requests.
I lead the Node.js Tooling Group, which I formed in late 2018. Node.js core has always had great representation from those who deploy Node.js in production, but those of us building tools with Node.js haven't had much of a voice. With the other group members--dev tool authors and Node.js collaborators like myself--we're enabling developers to build better tools in Node.js by working directly in Node.js core.
As a maintainer of Mocha, I am a voting member of the OpenJS Foundation Cross-Project Council, representing "Growth and At-Large Projects". In this capacity, I advocate for the needs of projects like Express, Lodash, ESLint, Node-RED, and of course Mocha.
I made report-toolkit, which is a tool that helps consume Node.js Diagnostic Reports.
I drop mad science on the JS Party podcast. This is not OSS, but I thought I should mention it--sorry. You can still listen for free.
I also like to play around with Raspberry Pi's, ESP8266/ESP32, Atmel MCUs, Particle Mesh & the like. In fact, I even have an entire drawer full of development boards, just sitting there!
If I've helped you by doing any of the above, I'd appreciate it if you let me know!
Mocha is the work of many. If you want to support Mocha the project, please contribute to Mocha's Collective instead. While I appreciate the thought, Mocha is not a solo endeavor!
