He spent the last two and a half years as a full-time Salesforce developer, mostly with custom APEX, LWC, APIs, complex automations, and system administration for Financial Services Cloud and Sales Cloud. Dan spent one year at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) as a contractor (Financial Services Cloud) on an internationally integrated agile team and the past one year at ChenMed (Sales Cloud) working as a W2 employee using agile methodology both remotely and on-site in South Florida. Dan received intensive training in Salesforce and coding from Revature, Randstad, and Salesforce and is an active and enthusiastic Salesforce Trailblazer. Prior to this, Dan also ventured into independent software development and successfully published an iOS app in the Apple App store in 2013.
Dan's journey in the tech world began during his time as a student, where he developed and deployed software using relational databases to run small businesses, provided university IT support, and also worked as an technology intern for the Arizona State Government developing databases and learning network administration for two summers while studying Information Technology at the University of Arizona.
In addition to his impressive tech background, Dan also has extensive experience in the social services field. He worked as a Family Therapist at a community mental health clinic and has user experience with electronic medical records. He also worked as a direct service provider and behavioral health technician with varied populations, including mental health, helping people with developmental disabilities, and working with seniors while going to school. With this unique combination of IT expertise and experience in the human and social services field, he has developed a strong human centered philosophical and psychological foundation that sets him apart as a well-rounded and empathetic professional, capable of understanding and tackling new problems through careful research. He has demonstrated ability to independently learn new areas and flexibility to operate in multiple domains, possessing sensitivity to various needs for accessibility and inclusion.
Dan's educational background is equally diverse, with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy (Western Analytic) and minor studies in communication, along with two Master's Degrees in Psychology and Clinical Psychology. This multidisciplinary education has equipped him with a deep understanding of human behavior and the intricacies of communication, taught him about working on structured development projects using wide array of tools, and how to employ rigorous logical reasoning to work through and solve difficult problems. His versatile background in different domains enhances his ability to create tech solutions that truly cater to the needs of users and communities.
As a frontline worker for small and midsize nonprofit and profit companies and with larger fortune 500 companies, Dan gained valuable insights and interpersonal skills through tested firsthand experience with organizational psychology (what works well or does not work well), equipping him to excel within varied teams by fostering an environment where each member thrives. His approach is deeply rooted in theoretical knowledge, social awareness, and a strong commitment to ethical standards. Proficient in sophisticated objective or qualitative research methods and drafting detailed psychological reports, he can also utilize statistical analysis software such as R, Python, and SPSS to interpret complex data sets.
Dan's technical skills span across Salesforce development, integrations, iOS mobile applications, and complex smoothly running integrated scalable automations and applications that are easy to maintain. His proficiency in Salesforce makes him an invaluable asset for solving problems within this platform and harnessing its full potential. His experience with independently developing and publishing an iOS app and with other web based development projects showcases his versatility in mobile app and web application development, further demonstrating his adaptability to different technological landscapes with independent motivation, creativity, and dedication to lifelong learning.
While he resides in South Florida, Dan is open to remote work opportunities but is also willing to consider in-person engagements. Currently looking to build and experiment with applications incorporating AI technology. He is a believer of open and free (like a bird) and secure software philosophy and communication, creative egalitarian collaboration and cooperation, and the power of distributed systems, but also appreciates the role of proprietary development to acquire resources to make cool software tools, improve efficiency, and realize dreams.
