I'm Alyx! I'm from Iowa, in the USA, and I have a passion for keeping software and platforms open and available.
I've always been inspired by the value of acknowledging the end-user experience in a product, and I always look to apply this passion to the communities I serve by helping to create solutions which not only solve the problem, but solve it in a way people will enjoy using.
Although I'm always working to broaden my support for various projects, I primarily work in the fields of chat protocols -- especially IRC, where I contribute to the Atheme IRC Services package, and have for nearly a decade -- and in Linux distributions, where I work frequently with Adélie Linux to improve the day-to-day lives of both developers, power users and every day folk who need a Linux that Just Works.
While contributing to improve both of these fields, as well as so many other projects, is a great joy in itself, your contributions can help allow me to allocate more time to working with these projects by freeing up time I'd have to spend working on making a living. ❤️
