I'm a web-developer working in Scotland, near Perth (just inside the "Lowlands" whisky region, if that is your tipple of choice!). I started work on DataTables in 2008, initially publishing it just on my own personal site as a bit of an aside (I needed it for a project I was working on at the time and nothing else quite fit my requirements). It has since grown to have its own web-site with an extremely active community (70K+ threads in the support forum, with 57K+ replies from myself), while more than 646K web-sites around the world use DataTables to present data to their end users.
I formed a web-development and design company (SpryMedia) in 2011 and in 2013 went fully in on DataTables, working exclusively on it and the components surrounding it. DataTables is supported by the commercial Editor plug-in for it, which is how I am able to work on DataTables and continue to support it so much.
