I'm Andreas and I work as a Senior Driver Engineer at MongoDB, where I work on the PHP Extension and PHP Library.

I'm a member of the Doctrine Project, where I maintain the MongoDB ODM, as well as the Symfony bundles for Doctrine:

I also work on the other Doctrine projects, mainly focussing on reviewing and merging pull requests as well as doing (semi-)regular releases for the various projects in the Doctrine organisation.
I wrote and maintain the mongo-php-adapter library to allow PHP users of MongoDB to upgrade to PHP 7 without having to worry about updating to the new PHP Driver, as the legacy driver does not support PHP 7. This library still helps many companies run a supported PHP version without having to completely rewrite their data access layer first.
User Group Speaker
I enjoy meeting other developers and talking about the projects we use, especially those I maintain. I also like teaching developers how to best leverage the projects I work on and learn new things about them. While I also enjoy speaking at conferences, user groups are a better opportunity to connect to developers as they are a lot less hectic than most conferences.

What Happens To Sponsorship Funds?
All income from sponsorships will support my work on Open-Source projects and user group talks. Sponsorship money will allow me to pay for user group travel costs. Since I believe in transparency, I will send out a monthly update to all supporters containing information about the use of sponsorship funds.
