Hi there! I like CAN stuff. I know, I'm weird.
While working in the off-road vehicle industry, I noticed that many implements, tractors, displays, and other things connected to an ISOBUS or J1939 network often struggled with performance and compliance issues. Many devices that claimed to be J1939 or ISOBUS compatible often took huge "liberties" or shortcuts causing other devices pain when integrating with them. I get it - commercial stacks cost a ton of money, and people want to focus on delivering a product and functionality, not a CAN stack, so people take shortcuts to get a product to market. Well, I want to solve that problem!
I am creating an open source library that will provide an MIT licensed J1939 and ISOBUS CAN stack with no compromises that encourages a control-function oriented approach to viewing a bus.
If you, like me, want to help accelerate off-road vehicle projects, please consider sponsoring me so I can focus on this project I'm passionate about.
