Who we are and what we do
We are two indie software engineers working from the Alps in Switzerland on a diverse set of Free and Open Source software projects: https://200ok.ch/floss.html
Phil holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy, and Alain is an ordained Zen Monk. We share a deep appreciation of the Free and Open Source software mindset and like to support the community where we can. Sometimes, we give talks or work as mentors at hackathons. We proudly organize and host the Clojure and Emacs meetup in Zürich and have co-organized and hosted the global EmacsConf 2019 and 2022.
What we will do with your sponsorship
Every single donation is very welcome and will be diligently used for the development of Free and Open Source Software.
Since nothing is free in life, we currently have to work on paid closed source projects to pay the bills. If you sponsor us on Github, you make more of our time available to work on Free and Open Source software and improve the products we are building for everyone to use. Our goal is to do this full-time and support others in being able to do the same.
Can I physically visit and work with you on FOSS?
Yes!
We partner with the Lambda Zen Temple in Glarus, Switzerland which is the first Zen temple for software developers and Zen practitioners alike. Alain, a co-founder of 200ok, is the head monk and is happy to welcome serious practitioners of FOSS.
Note to Potential Sponsors from the EU
GitHub Sponsors does not currently charge EU VAT on your sponsorship. If you want to receive a service in return, like the website banner or priority support, please sponsor us through Patreon instead, which does charge VAT. If you use GitHub anyway, we legally cannot offer services to you and declare that we will not exchange services independent of the Sponsor tier chosen.
